ADR-LAC 2020
Action on Disaster Relief - Africa 'Virtual Event'
29th-30th June 2021

GRV Global proudly presents the inaugural ‘Action on Disaster Relief – Africa’ AADR2021 forum, being held online on the 29th - 30th June 2021 utilising GRV Global's virtual event platform PNYX.

The African continent has to contend with many disasters including diseases, pandemics; weather & climate-related disasters such as floods, droughts, cyclones, storms; displacement and population movement; conflict, and technological-related disasters that have impacted millions of people and resulted in massive damages and loss of infrastructure. The frequency and intensity of climatological events are increasing substantially. The average number of climate and weather-related disasters per decade has risen nearly 35% since the 1990s.

This means more powerful storms, heatwaves breaking temperature records, and more floods among other many extremes. Losses of natural resources, food insecurity, direct and indirect health impacts, and displacement are likewise on the rise. More communities are being affected by concurrent and consecutive disasters leaving them with little to recover before the next shock arrives. Action on Disaster Relief – Africa (ADR being first launched in Latin America in 2016) engages all the relevant aid and development stakeholders, and creates long-lasting partnerships among public and private sector leaders; to coordinate action and generate the preparedness required to reduce the impact of disasters and face them in the most effective way.

The two-day virtual conference uses GRV Global's world-class online platform 'PNYX' which is intuitive, engaging, and easy to navigate. Holding AADR2021 virtually means no travel time away from the office; you get to meet key decision-makers and industry experts from the safety of your own home or office.
The event will attract 300+ senior attendees from regional governments, UN agencies, international and regional NGOs, CBOs, investors and donors, research institutes, and private sector solution providers. The agenda is developed in consultation with key organisations, such as the African Union Commission, Africa CDC, WFP, IFRC, World Vision, USAID, UNICEF, The World Bank, Save the Children, UN-Habitat, CRS, FHI360, Oxfam, Habitat for Humanity International, IRD and many more... including case studies, panel discussions, exclusive breakfast briefings, workshops, interactive roundtable sessions and pre-scheduled one-2-one matchmaking meetings.
